‘Coming Off the Hill’

I wish I knew the name of the bank used by Ruth Shaer (“Foreclosure: Coming Down Off the Hill,” Speaking Out, Feb. 7). They’d never get my business.
So they foreclosed on the Shaers, and are selling their house at a public auction. What makes them think they can sell it if the owners couldn’t? How heartless of the bank to auction their lovely home at a fire-sale price, not caring how little they get as long as it covers their stake. The bank gives all banks a bad name--well-deserved in most cases, sad to say.
