Northridge Should Heed Panel’s Advice
It certainly seems to be a waste of time, effort and money when (Cal State Northridge) President Blenda Wilson wants to override her blue-ribbon panel’s recommendation to proceed with implementation of a Division I-AA football program.
Why bother if your mind is already made up? It seems that we have gone this way before.
During the 1967 and ’68 seasons the Matadors were playing San Diego State, Fresno State, Weber State and Northern Arizona. If the decision at that time would have been to get serious about football, maybe it could have been CSUN instead of the Bulldogs playing USC in the Freedom Bowl. Until CSUN gets serious about football it will always remain Valley State.
