Georgetown will return to Division I football after a 42-year hiatus when the Hoyas join the newly formed Division I-AA Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, officials said. Athletic Director Francis X. Rienzo said the reclassification from Division III to Division I was a result of legislation passed at the NCAA Convention in 1991.
