NATION IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Hijack Suspect Is Held Without Bail

A federal court in Miami ordered a Haitian jailed without bail on charges of air piracy. Woody Edouard, 24, is accused of hijacking a planeload of missionaries at gunpoint in a bid to escape his troubled homeland. Assistant U.S. Atty. Bob Waters, saying Edouard was a danger to the community for reasons “that will come out in the hearing” asked that he be held without bail until a pretrial hearing in five days.
