Marquis Grissom of the Montreal Expos lost his arbitration case and will earn $1.5 million this season.
Grissom, who made $300,000 in 1992, asked for $1.95 million.
Boston pitcher John Dopson and Seattle pitcher Erik Hanson argued the last arbitration cases of the year Friday.
Dopson, 7-11 with a 4.08 earned-run average last season, is asking for a raise from $265,000 to $750,000. Boston is offering $485,000.
Hanson, 8-17 with a 4.82 ERA, is asking for a raise from $1.3 million to $2.3 million. The Mariners want to cut Hanson to $1.25 million.
