Differing Tastes

I was sickened and disgusted to read Colman Andrews’ article “Dining Through Truffle Country” (Jan. 31). Andrews recommends that travelers try the foie gras while in Perigord, France. He describes it as the “liver of ducks or geese force-fed with grain.” Does he not know the vile torture involved in this force-feeding? Surely politically correct Angelenos can find something more humane on which to spend their money.
