Herricanes Advance to Quarterfinals

The Mission Viejo Herricanes advanced to the quarterfinals in the under-19 division of the Dallas Cup XIV girls’ soccer tournament by defeating the Texas D’feeters, 3-2, in pool play Thursday in Dallas.
Toni Nunez and Amber Escobedo scored in the first half to give the Herricanes a 2-0 lead. After the D’feeters tied the score in the second half, Kim Campbell scored late in the second half to give the Herricanes the lead.
