Film-Business Clarity
The cobblers, Realtors and bus drivers of Los Angeles are required to sit in juries as filmmakers argue lawsuits. The people seem largely unconcerned with the weave of show-business finance. They were asked to pass judgment when “custom and practice in the film business” were insufficient to resolve conflict. Asserting only that disingenuous enthusiasm has long fueled creative meetings, Baldwin fails to note that court convened to address an integrity problem within the industry.
