South Gate vs. Jefferson--Jefferson took South Gate to five games before losing in a Southeastern Conference match Wednesday at South Gate. The scores were 15-8, 15-9, 5-15, 8-15, 15-4.

Leading South Gate were middle blocker Henry Sanchez, with eight kills in 12 attempts and six blocks, and outside hitter Guillermo Delgado, with six kills in 13 attempts. The Rams improved to 7-4 overall and 4-4 in the conference.

Outside hitter Hermes Garay had six kills to lead Jefferson (3-8, 2-6). Middle blocker Rudy Plazola, who had five blocks and three digs, was a key defender.
