A new business assistance center has opened to provide entrepreneurial training and other technical assistance to local residents.
The South Central Los Angeles Business Assistance Center, which opened last week in Suite A on the second level of the University Village Shopping Center, is a partnership between the USC Business School’s entrepreneur program and the city’s Community Development Department.
Counselors will be available to offer advice on business skills such as bookkeeping and marketing strategies and to make referrals to federal and local agencies that provide business loans and other technical assistance, said Debra S. Esparza, director of the USC Community Outreach Program.
The center will be open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend appointments can be scheduled, Esparza said.
