WEEKEND TV : ‘Heroes of the Earth,’ Preakness Stakes on Tap

On Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on Channel 2, actor Ed Begley Jr. will host “Heroes of the Earth,” which profiles the six Goldman Environmental Prize winners.
In sports, ABC will televise the Preakness Stakes at 1:30 p.m. today from Pimlico race course in Baltimore, on Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42.
President Clinton’s economic plan, the ban on gays in the military and the conflict in Bosnia will be popular topics of discussion on the public affairs shows.
