BREA : Community Services Director Honored

Community Services Director Ret Wixted has been named this year’s Woman of Distinction by Soroptomist International of Brea.
Wixted, 50, was honored for her contributions as a volunteer and service professional and for her “exemplary character and integrity,” Soroptomists said.
The club presented Wixted with an engraved vase and a donation was made to a local charity on her behalf.
Wixted has served as Brea’s community services director for the past 10 years. Her duties include managing the Art Gallery, the Curtis Theater, the Senior Center and the city’s sports and recreation programs.
Before joining Brea, Wixted worked with Anaheim’s Recreation and Human Services Department for six years.
She earned a degree in human services from Cal State Fullerton.
