Amoco Takes 24.3% of Caspian Sea Venture: Amoco Corp. said it has agreed to team up with British Petroleum and Pennzoil Co. to develop 4.4 billion barrels of oil reserves and 7 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in the Caspian Sea. Chicago-based Amoco agreed to take a 24.3% stake in a joint venture with several Western oil companies to develop the three oil fields, Guneshli, Chirag and Azeri, off the coast of Azerbaijan. Pennzoil and its partner Ramco Oil Services Ltd. said they agreed to a 17% stake in the new venture.
