Nation IN BRIEF : PENNSYLVANIA : Surviving Twin Continues Recovery

Surviving Siamese twin Angela Lakeberg continued to recuperate at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, eight days after the surgery that separated her from her sister, Amy. A hospital spokeswoman said the 8-week-old girl was still in critical but stable condition, although doctors said earlier last week that Angela’s condition might be upgraded to “serious” within days. The spokeswoman said plans to switch the infant from intravenous to intestinal feedings are on hold. She is still dependent on a respirator to breathe.
