Why Not Crawford?

As a native of the Pine Ridge area of Nebraska and having family roots in the Sandhills, I thoroughly enjoyed “Middle America’s National Paradise” (Aug. 8). However, I was rather dismayed at your nearly complete omission of my hometown of Crawford, which lies between Chadron and Harrison, and just a few miles east of Ft. Robinson.
As an aside, my father, Don Williams, and his fellow Chamber of Commerce members worked very hard to have Ft. Robinson designated a state park and I still remember his giving the dedication speech on its opening day.
