Campbell Hall 12, Victor Valley Christian 0--Pablo Alberti rushed for 144 yards in 13 carries and scored the game’s first touchdown on a 35-yard run in the second quarter to lead the host Vikings past Victor Valley Christian in a nonleague game. Quarterback Justin Wallace rushed for 60 yards, including a four-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
BOYS’ CROSS-COUNTRY
St. Francis 38, Crescenta Valley 41, La Canada 74, Burbank 83--Sophomore Kevin Koeper (16 minutes 49 seconds over the three-mile course) and senior John Stires (17:09) placed first and third for St. Francis in the nonleague meet at Crescenta Valley County Park.
GIRLS’ CROSS-COUNTRY
Crescenta Valley 22, La Canada 52, Burbank 61--Michelle Zayas’s winning time of 21:24 over the three-mile course powered the host Falcons to victory in the nonleague meet at Crescenta Valley County Park.
Led by Zayas, Crescenta Valley placed five runners among the top seven finishers.
WATER POLO
El Toro 9, Crespi 5--Jon Schild scored a team-high three goals, but Crespi could not overcome a 5-0 first-quarter deficit in the first round of the Valencia Tournament. Teammate Rob Gram added two goals for Crespi (0-1), which plays Whittier (0-1) in a second-round consolation match today.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Royal d. Arcadia, 15-8, 15-8, 15-11--Jenny Treglown had a match-high 16 kills and Teri Enright added 13 for Royal in the nonleague match at Arcadia.
Burroughs d. Notre Dame, 15-6, 8-15, 15-10, 15-10--Christy Russell had 17 kills for visiting Burroughs in the nonleague match.
