Minus its starting quarterback, Cal State Northridge (0-1) takes on Weber State (1-0) tonight in a nonconference game at Ogden, Utah.
Senior quarterback Coley Kyman suffered a season-ending injury during the Matadors’ 34-17 loss to San Diego State last Saturday. Kyman broke his fibula and tibia, and tore ligaments in his ankle.
Clayton Millis, a sophomore transfer from Oregon, will start in place of Kyman. J.J. O’Laughlin, a junior from Glendora High who transferred from Illinois, could see playing time.
Weber State, a Big Sky Conference team, is led by Rob Westervelt, formerly of Newhall Hart High. Westervelt completed 29 of 48 passes for 373 yards and four touchdowns in a 40-28 victory last week over Sonoma State.
