LOS ANGELES : 150 Marchers Protest Criticism of Immigrants

About 150 Latinos, union members and community activists marched through the Civic Center on Tuesday night to protest what they said is the rising tide of so-called immigrant-bashing.
Organizers said the march was intended to counter the perception that newcomers create a drain on U.S. society. The demonstrators booed Gov. Pete Wilson for recommending the withholding of citizenship from children born to illegal immigrants.
