PREP ROUNDUP : Goalie Does It All in Triton Water Polo Rout

Gabriel Gardner, who normally plays goalie for San Clemente, scored three goals in the last three minutes as San Clemente swamped Dana Hills, 21-6, Thursday in a South Coast league water polo game.
Gardner also had seven saves for the Tritons (14-3, 3-0), while his brother, Thinney, had eight goals. Dana Hills is 0-2 in league.
In other South Coast League games:
Capistrano Valley 20, Mater Dei 2--Brian Myer scored five goals and Jake Yokota added three for host Capistrano Valley (10-7, 1-1).
In the Pacific Coast League:
Estancia 9, Laguna Beach 7--Adam Bollenbach had four goals to lead Estancia (9-6, 2-0). Christian Jensen had five goals for Laguna Beach (9-8, 0-2).
Costa Mesa 6, Laguna Hills 3--Brian Clottu, Andy Dober and Dominic Schussler each scored a goal, and Chad Wronka recorded 18 saves in Laguna Hills’ loss. The Hawks dropped to 3-9, 0-2.
In Century League tennis:
Canyon 9, Foothill 9 (Canyon wins on games, 88-80)--Kim Westermann swept at No. 1 singles, 7-6, 7-5 and 6-0, to lead Canyon (8-6, 4-2).
El Modena 17, Orange 1--Sisters Brandi and Holli Freudenberg swept at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and Amy Medlin swept at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0 to lead host El Modena (11-0, 6-0).
In the Garden Grove League:
Garden Grove 9, Pacifica 9 (Garden Grove wins in games 70-66)--Mai Le and Rashi Gupta swept at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, and Thuy Tran and Thu Anh Le swept at No. 2 doubles, 6-3, 6-1, 6-1 to lead host Garden Grove (5-6, 2-6). Pacifica dropped to 1-7.
In South Coast League:
No. 4 Dana Hills 12, Capistrano Valley 6--Elizabeth Stevens swept at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1, and Michelle Johnson swept at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 7-5, 6-0, to lead No. 4-ranked Dana Hills (7-2, 4-0). Host Capistrano Valley fell to 4-7, 1-3.
