Quartz Hill Finishes
Picture Perfect, 66-13
Quartz Hill closed out the first undefeated regular season in school history Thursday night and set a school record for points in a 66-13 victory over Littlerock at Quartz Hill.
Brad Norris passed for 310 yards and five touchdowns while completing 11 of 13 passes, including four scoring tosses to Troy Searcy.
Searcy caught touchdown passes on plays of 67, 40, 55 and 20 yards and finished with 202 yards on five receptions--all in the first half as the Rebels (10-0, 5-0 in Golden League play) opened up a 52-7 lead. The 66 points eclipsed the record of 63 set against Burroughs in 1970. Quartz Hill scored 31 points in the first quarter and 21 in the second quarter.
Brad Breckenridge rushed for 112 yards in eight carries, including a 75-yard run in the second quarter.
Sophomore Lafayette Bailey scored for Littlerock (3-7, 1-4) on a 90-yard kickoff return and a 36-yard run.
PACIFIC LEAGUE
Crescenta Valley 27, Arcadia 0--Erik La Com and Brendan Jones combined for 225 yards rushing and four touchdowns at Crescenta Valley to lead the Falcons to a victory that clinched second place in the Pacific League.
Jones scored on a 57-yard run with 4:47 left in the fourth quarter while La Com scored three times from short yardage, twice after Arcadia turnovers.
The Falcons held the Apaches to 40 total yards, forcing three fumbles and grabbing two interceptions. Linebacker Mark Rodriguez recorded two sacks that produced fumbles and senior defensive end Tom Miller had two fumble recoveries.
Jones carried 11 times for 155 yards while La Com gained 70 yards in 20 carries.
