Baseball Group to Honor El Dorado Assistant Coach

El Dorado High assistant coach Iran Novick will be honored Dec. 4 in Chicago at the National High School Baseball Assn. convention as that group’s District 8 assistant coach of the year. The region covers more than 1,500 schools in California, Oregon, Washington, Hawaii and Alaska.
Besides assisting Coach Steve Gullotti, he is tournament director of the Upper Deck Classic, vice president of the Baseball Coaches Assn., writes a high school baseball column for Collegiate Baseball newspaper, and works with that paper and USA Today in compiling the all-America teams and national polls.
