OUTLOOK
Corona del Mar lost the state leading scorer, Mollie Flint (27.9 points), but may be better off this season than last. They should be more balanced offensively. The Sea Kings lost only two seniors and depth and experience are their strengths. Fitz, a transfer point guard from Moreno Valley Rancho Verde, should help the offense. In fact, Flint has considered a three-guard offense to take advantage of the talent provided by Fitz and Amoli, both point guards, and Ford. If that happens, Warmington should help off the bench. Casey was the leading scorer on a 10-4 junior varsity team, averaging 11 points. Kane averaged 11.2 rebounds and was a second-team all-league performer last season. Corona del Mar’s goal is to finish among the league’s top four teams to qualify for the playoffs. After a 7-7 record last season, they lost a one-game playoff for fourth to Tustin and failed to make the playoffs. despite having a better record than nine playoff teams in the division.
