OUTLOOK
The Knights have two returning starters, Bausteiger and LaPack, and will need to develop their inside game quickly to make a legitimate run at the league title. The Knights’ biggest players are young and inexperienced. League foe Maranatha has five returning starters. Western Christian has four. “This Alpha League is gonna be tough,” Neville said. “This league in basketball is as strong as football is weak.” The Knights’ bench can go 10 deep and probably will. “Every kid has the potential to score in double figures every night,” Neville said.

OUTLOOK
The Crusaders are coming off their finest season in school history. Village Christian went undefeated in league play and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division IV-A playoffs, losing to Verbum Dei. Two of the finest guards in the league return. Hanson, a first-team all-league selection last season, and Gustafson, a second-team selection, averaged nine points each. Orso, the most experienced front-court player, missed several games last year because of an ankle injury. Village Christian will have to rely on its backcourt. “I really believe we’ll probably have the strongest guards in the league,” Gibson said.
