Library Closure
* I am enraged after reading “Merced County to Close Its Public Libraries” (Nov. 24). We profess to be an intelligent, far-thinking populace; however, calamities like this occur unabated. We must preserve our current library system, for our future is at risk.
I believe our citizenry would support a minimum annual fee for the right to use the library. Why don’t you challenge our city, county and state officials to enact such an income-producing measure now?
