Prodigy, Nynex to Offer Yellow Pages: The nation’s largest on-line personal computer service said it and Nynex Corp. will deliver the nation’s first advertiser-supported computerized Yellow Pages. The venture marks the latest effort by White Plains, N.Y.-based Prodigy Services Co. to reposition itself and fend off rival on-line services. The electronic Yellow Pages, to be introduced next year, will include display advertising and eventually be interactive. It is to be financially supported by advertisers. Businesses would pay for advertising only beyond their name and phone number listing. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
