STUDIO CITY — A falling tree in the hills above Studio City knocked out power to about 800 Coldwater Canyon homes Saturday night, authorities said.
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power officials said a large tree at Coldwater Canyon Boulevard and Avenida del Sol took down power lines just before 7:30 p.m.
Full power was expected to be restored by 10:30 p.m., said DWP spokeswoman Dorothy Jensen.
The area affected was bordered by Avenida del Sol on the north, Eden Drive on the south, Pinnacle Place on the east and Mulholland Drive on the west.
Traffic was blocked between Ventura Boulevard and Mulholland Drive while work crews cleared the tree from the street.
