Jurisprudence
Nikki Hamilton, a former All-City guard for the North Hollywood girls’ basketball team, has filed a lawsuit charging Alemany High and two game officials with negligence because of a knee injury Hamilton suffered during a game at Alemany last season.
Hamilton, now playing for Valley College, suffered ligament damage in her left knee when she slipped in a puddle of water on the court during a game last December. The injury ended Hamilton’s season after four games and led to surgery in February. “I was very angry,” Hamilton said.
Hamilton said she is seeking unspecified damages for medical expenses and the loss of a potential college scholarship. The suit is filed in Los Angeles Superior Court in San Fernando.
