REDLANDS--In conjunction with its holiday exhibit of dolls and toys, “Pastimes and Playthings,” the San Bernardino County Museum offers doll-making demonstrations. Redlands resident Emma Jean Lorenz, whose porcelain dolls are part of the exhibit, leads demonstrations 2:30-3:30 p.m. Wednesday; 2:30-4:30 p.m. Jan. 22. SAN DIEGO--”Celebrate the American Spirit” is the theme of the 1993 Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade, 10 a.m. Thursday. The procession begins on Harbor Drive near Grape Street, proceeding south on Harbor Drive to Pacific Highway. A Post-Parade Festival follows 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in Embarcadero Marina Park, next to Seaport Village. Free. (619) 283-5808.
FULLERTON--Live entertainment and children’s activities fill the streets at “First Night Fullerton,” 7 p.m.-midnight New Year’s Eve on Harbor Boulevard, Wilshire Avenue and adjacent streets. A fireworks finale is also featured at the family event, themed “First Night Fullerton--the Place to Be Alcohol-Free.” Admission buttons: $7, adults; $5 kids 12 and under. (714) 738-6545.
