TOURISM : Bigger Is Better
Knott’s Berry Farm is thinking big these days. Big, at least, when it comes to the meals at its experimental foray into developing a restaurant chain.
The three Mrs. Knott’s Restaurants have started offering big portions, while holding the line on prices.
How big?
The omelets are made with four eggs. And the prime rib weighs in at nearly a pound and a half.
“Although we did offer other entrees, our focus was on chicken--and that’s what people remembered,” said Ken Holz, vice president of theme parks and restaurant operations. “When given the chance, our customers told us they wanted a bigger menu, bigger portions and better prices.”
Mrs. Knott’s restaurants are in Irvine, Mission Viejo and Moreno Valley. The changes do not affect the fare at the restaurant and theme-park complex in Buena Park.
