DANA POINT : Crime, Gangs Will Be Focus of Meeting

A quarterly meeting of people involved in the city Neighborhood Watch program will take place Jan. 3.
Current participants and prospective members will gather at City Hall, 33282 Golden Lantern, at 7 p.m. to get an update on crime in the city and the Neighborhood Watch program from local law enforcement officials.
Speaking will be Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. Paul Ratchford, who supervises police activities in Dana Point. Ratchford will give a statistical overview of crime in the city.
Also scheduled to speak is Marilyn MacDougall, gang strategy coordinator for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The meeting is open to the public and those interested in becoming block captains are encouraged to attend. For information, call City Hall at (714) 248-9890.
