NHL ROUNDUP : Graves, Tikkanen Lead Rangers Over the Blues

Adam Graves and Esa Tikkanen each scored two goals Wednesday night as the New York Rangers beat the St. Louis Blues, 4-3, at St. Louis.
Steve Larmer had three assists for the Rangers, who increased their NHL-leading point total to 55, seven better than Toronto.
The Blues outshot the Rangers, 40-29, and forced goalie Mike Richter to make several spectacular saves early in the third period to preserve his league-leading 18th victory.

Quebec 5, New York Islanders 3--Joe Sakic, who had two goals, and Craig Wolanin scored 18 seconds apart in the first minute of the final period to lead the Nordiques at Quebec.
Sakic, the target of recent fan complaints alleging indifferent play, had pulled Quebec into a 3-3 tie with 2:39 to play in the second period.
The team captain, the only Nordique named to the all-star team, broke the deadlock 32 seconds into the third period.

Edmonton 6, Montreal 3--Vladimir Vujtek scored twice and the Oilers got another strong goaltending effort from Bill Ranford at Edmonton.
The Oilers dominated the defending Stanley Cup champions in the first period on the way to a 4-1 lead. It was the most goals the Oilers have scored in a period this season.

Florida 5, Hartford 3--Scott Mellanby and Scott Levins each had a goal and an assist at Hartford as the Panthers extended their road unbeaten streak to seven games.
Tom Fitzgerald, Stu Barnes and Andrei Lomakin also scored for the Panthers, who are 5-0-2 in their last seven road games.

Dallas 4, Toronto 0--Russ Courtnall had a goal and an assist and Darcy Wakaluk posted his fourth career shutout as the Stars ended a four-game home winless streak.
Dave Gagner, Mike Craig and Darien Hatcher also scored goals as Toronto lost for the seventh time in 11 games.

Winnipeg 3, Chicago 2--Dean Kennedy scored the winning goal with 2:38 left at Winnipeg.
Tie Domi and Keith Tkachuk also scored for the Jets.
Michel Goulet and Dirk Graham scored Chicago’s goals.
