Singapore Airlines Considers Joint Venture: The carrier is looking into the possibility of creating a domestic airline in India with local partners, the Straits Times newspaper reported. The paper cited a source who traveled to India with Singapore Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong last week. The airline would run shuttle services between major cities. India’s aviation sector has been closed to foreign competition until recently, the paper said. Goh visited India with a delegation of business leaders in an effort to strengthen economic ties between the two countries.
