Boy, 8, Dies in Collision on Highway

An 8-year-old boy was killed Monday when the car he was riding in collided with another vehicle on California 33 near Ojai, authorities said.
A spokesman for the California Highway Patrol said Sergio Ramirez was transported shortly before 5 p.m. to Ojai Valley Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the second vehicle, a Ford pickup, was arrested on suspicion of felony drunk driving, the spokesman said. He said investigators believe the truck was traveling too fast around a curve and crossed over the center line, crashing into the car.
CHP officials said their investigation is continuing.
