ROUNDUP : Ripon Christian Wins Two Titles

OAKLAND — Ripon Christian High of the Sac-Joaquin Section won a record third State Division V boys’ basketball title with a 60-46 victory over Pacific Hills Saturday at the Oakland Coliseum Arena.
The Knights (35-1) also won titles in 1988 and ’92. Pacific Hills, previously known as Bel-Air Prep, also finished as the Division V runner-up in 1989.
Ripon Christian led from start to finish, building a 33-21 halftime margin. Forward Phil Mensonides had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Knights.
Pacific Hills (24-9) shot 27% from the field. Forward Danny Brummel led the Bruins with 14 points. Forward Bryan Sterling had a game-high 14 rebounds.
Ripon Christian 62, El Cajon Christian 46--Jenny Miller scored 18 points to lead the Knights to the State Division V girls’ championship.
Ripon Christian (31-5) went on a 9-0 run in the final 1:25 of the third quarter to take a 47-38 lead. The Patriots (28-5) never got closer than seven points in the fourth quarter.
