Coach Popovich Quits Marina Basketball

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Steve Popovich, Marina boys’ basketball coach, resigned to become an assistant at Saddleback College, Athletic Director Larry Doyle said Tuesday.
Popovich coached at Marina for 18 years before resigning after the 1991-92 season. He worked at Saddleback as a volunteer during the 1992-93 season, and returned to Marina last season.
