Fiesta Time in Downtown L.A.

Los Huracanes del Norte have had a whirlwind recording career--having just released their 31st album. The group’s nortena music is popular in Mexico and the United States, and on Sunday its music will fill the streets of Downtown Los Angeles at the city’s biggest block party--L.A. Fiesta Broadway. Los Huracanes will take one of nine stages positioned at the intersections of a 36-block area--along with comedian Paul Rodriguez, Grupo Niche, Tony Vega, Las Chicas del Can and others.
In addition to top Latin entertainers, more than 250 food booths, games, carnival rides and sports exhibitors will participate in the Cinco de Mayo celebration, which commemorates Mexico’s victory in the Battle of Puebla. Sponsors such as Disneyland, Budweiser, Coca-Cola and others will present their own booths. The event takes place 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is free. See below for other Cinco de Mayo festivities.
