PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP : Calvary Chapel Rallies to Win

Trailing, 13-7, in first game, unbeaten Calvary Chapel rallied to defeat Village Christian in a Division III boys’ volleyball quarterfinal match Friday at Calvary Chapel.
Philip Schildts led Calvary Chapel (16-0) with 23 kills and six aces and Robert Schildts added seven blocks in the 16-14, 15-6, 15-8 victory.
In another Division III match:
Whittier Christian 3, Los Angeles Baptist 2--Tim Willey had 25 kills and teammate Ryan McGuire had 12 kills and six blocks for Whittier Christian, which won, 8-15, 8-15, 15-5, 15-10, 15-1. Whittier Christian is 15-3 and will meet Santa Ynez in the semifinals.
In Division II volleyball quarterfinals:
South Torrance 3, Esperanza 0--Senior middle blocker Jason Klems lead Esperanza with 17 kills. South Torrance won, 15-12, 15-7, 15-13. Esperanza finished 16-3.
Thousand Oaks 3, Los Amigos 0--Kiet Tran had 19 kills and Brian Laske added 15 for Los Amigos, which lost, 15-9, 15-9, 15-6. It is the first time the Lobos had advanced to the third round of the playoffs. Los Amigos finished 15-2.
