Shade awnings, an information kiosk and more landscaping will be installed at the Ventura train platform this year, but not in time for the Ventura County Fair in August, according to a Ventura city staff report.
The City Council, acting as the Redevelopment Agency, on Monday approved more construction and landscaping work at the platform and authorized the city to advertise for bids on the project. City staff, in a report to the agency, estimate the cost for the project at $250,000.
The money comes from a state transit grant. The estimated construction time is 60 days and will begin after the fair ends.
