PALMDALE — A 38-year-old Palmdale woman was shot and killed in the living room of her home Friday night, authorities said Saturday.
Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were called to the couple’s home in the 37700 block of Cottonwood Street shortly before 10 p.m. Friday.
The victim, TeriLynn Peitz, was dead at the scene.
Sheriff’s Deputy Dianne Hecht said Saturday that Peitz’s husband told detectives an intruder entered the couple’s house, shot his wife and fled, Hecht said.
Detectives had no additional information about the alleged intruder or the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Hecht said neighbors of the couple had not reported seeing the suspect.
Hecht said the investigation by the Sheriff’s Department is continuing. She declined to say whether the murdered woman’s husband was also a possible suspect in the killing.
