Texaco, Norwegian Firm to Join Forces: Norway’s Norsk Hydro and Texaco Inc. said they have signed a letter of intent to create a joint venture company to sell petroleum products in Norway and Denmark. Each partner would hold a 50% share in the new company, which encompasses only marketing activities. The new firm would also have a major presence in the diesel and heating fuel markets. “It combines Hydro’s strong Scandinavian presence with Texaco’s international experience and marketing expertise,” the two companies said.
