U.S. Suspends Film-Dumping Probe: The Commerce Department said it has suspended the anti-dumping trade investigations into color photo papers and chemicals from Japanese firms after the firms agreed to increase prices to a fair market value. It said the suspensions followed agreements that Fuji Photo Film Co. and Konica Corp. will sell their products, from Japan and the Netherlands, at or above the foreign market value in the United States. The Commerce Department, acting on an Eastman Kodak Co. complaint, issued a preliminary dumping finding last March, and a hearing on the issue was scheduled next week by the U.S. International Trade Commission, a final arbiter on whether such anti-dumping practices were injuring U.S. companies.
