SIMI VALLEY : UPI’s Helen Thomas to Speak at Forum

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library near Simi Valley has filled up its September calendar with a list of speakers including a stalwart White House correspondent and a former Reagan chief of staff.
Helen Thomas, White House correspondent for United Press International, who has covered Presidents for most of her 50 years of reporting, will speak at 11 a.m. Friday on “Living in the White House.”
James Baker, former secretary of state and chief of staff in the Reagan White House, is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m. Sept. 16.
Other speakers are CNN talk show host Larry King and former secretary of Housing and Urban Development Jack Kemp. King is scheduled to appear at 11 a.m. Sept. 26 and Kemp will appear at 7 p.m. Sept. 29.
Library Executive Director Richard Norton Smith said the speakers, all part of the ongoing Reagan Forum, are meant to present a variety of viewpoints on the presidency and politics.
“We don’t always know what they’re going to be talking about, but we can guarantee it will be interesting, “ Smith said.
All lectures are open to the public. Tickets range in price from $10 to $25 for the general public. Members of the library receive a discount on tickets.
