RESEDA : Birmingham High Gets Math Grant

Birmingham High School in Reseda is among six high schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District awarded $1,000 grants by the Northrop Corp. for math or science instruction and curriculum.
Northrop’s grant to Birmingham’s math department will go toward the purchase of computer software and calculators for students.
“We’re really very thrilled about this,” said Gerald Kleinman, Birmingham principal.
The grants were awarded based on a high school’s commitment to teaching higher math and science, teamwork among teachers, and dedication to continuously reforming school curriculum, Kleinman said.
Other schools that received grants were Garfield, Palisades, Lincoln, University and Venice high schools.
