Three people were arrested on drug charges after authorities received complaints about narcotics-related activity at a home, a police spokesman said Friday.
Patrick Kerivan, 45, was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana for sale and allegedly having a loaded firearm and stolen property after police entered a home in the 9700 block of Cathay Circle, Sgt. Ron Burgess said.
Burgess said Kerivan lived at the home with Julie Nielsen, 35, who also was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine and cocaine for sale. A visitor to the home, Deborah McCarty, 40, of Huntington Beach, was arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine.
Investigators had obtained a search warrant after receiving complaints about the residence. During a search, authorities seized a pound of methamphetamine, an ounce of cocaine and some marijuana, as well as chemicals and equipment that are being inspected by the state Bureau of Narcotics to determine whether they were used in the illegal production of methamphetamine, Burgess said.
On Friday, Kerivan and Nielsen were held in Huntington Beach Jail. Bail had been set at $50,000 for Kerivan and $25,000 for Nielsen. McCarty was released on her own recognizance, a jail spokesman said. The three are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in West Orange County Municipal Court.
