A New Look for Atrium Marquis: Across the street from John Wayne Airport, the Atrium Marquis Hotel has completed its 18-month, $4.5-million renovation.
The Irvine hotel, known as the Airporter Inn when it opened in 1970, now sports a Mediterranean-style design, two-story garden atrium and a waterfall at the entrance.
The 212-room hotel, which has 17 suites, charges rates ranging from $89 to $150 a night.
The hotel’s strategy is that the redesign will help to bring in more business meetings. Included now is 11,500 square feet of meeting and banquet space with the capacity to serve as many as 500 guests at a time.
