Continuus Software Corp.: The company said Wednesday that it has received an additional $2.5 million in venture capital financing, bringing its total venture capital investment to $7.5 million.

The newest investor group was led by Norwest Venture Capital in Minneapolis and includes Advanced Technology Ventures in Menlo Park and Brentwood Associates, in Los Angeles.

The funding will be used to develop Continuus’ management software, new marketing efforts and for an expansion into overseas markets.

Privately held Continuus, with 80 employees, sells software for computer programming, training and support services to computer makers, commercial users and government agencies.

Major customers include Apple, BMW, Bell Atlantic, Lockheed, Motorola, Northern Telecom, and Tandem.
