ROUNDUP : Washington Cuts Down North Hollywood, 76-50

Senior guard Anna Celaya scored 22 points, but the North Hollywood girls’ basketball team was defeated by Washington, 76-50, on Wednesday night in a City Section 4-A Division quarterfinal at Washington.
Washington (21-6) outscored the Huskies, 24-11, in the second quarter to extend a three-point lead. Tina Greer and Kanisha Best each scored 16 points for Washington.
Samantha Fargeon added 12 points for North Hollywood (20-3). Teammate Liset Maya had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Crenshaw 81, Taft 43--Naila Mosley scored 27 points and Kristi Lattin had 18 for the Cougars (26-0) in a 4-A quarterfinal at Crenshaw.
Nyoki McKeith scored 15 points for Taft.
Chatsworth 49, Poly 44--Nancy Vincent scored 22 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for the Chancellors in a 3-A game.
Chatsworth (19-5) used a 12-0 run to start the third quarter. The Chancellors entered the fourth with a 34-31 lead and Poly couldn’t catch up.
Fremont 50, Grant 36--Shaterry Danley scored 13 of her 26 points for the Pathfinders in the second quarter in a 3-A quarterfinal at Fremont.
Grant’s Kristin Kiley-Boynton scored 12 points and Bahaneh Maani added eight.
Morro Bay 60, Oak Park 44--Natalie Davis had 13 points, 11 rebounds and six blocked shots for Oak Park (18-9) in a Southern Section Division IV-AA quarterfinal.
Sarah Mavety scored 10 of her 23 points in the fourth quarter for Morro Bay (22-2).
St. Mary’s 52, Louisville 50--The Royals closed with a 13-2 run but fell short in a IV-AA quarterfinal at Crespi High.
Nicole Legaux scored 19 points for St. Mary’s (23-4).
Becky Witt had 19 for Louisville (13-12).
BOYS
Birmingham 77, Canoga Park 49--David Redmond scored 38 points for the Braves (15-9) in a 3-A Division quarterfinal at Birmingham. Jamal Marks added 13 points for the Braves.
Carlos Harper scored 17 points for Canoga Park (12-11).
