SIMI VALLEY : Harvard Psychologist to Speak on ADD

A Harvard Medical School psychologist will speak in Simi Valley on Friday during a two-day conference on attention deficit disorder.

Organizers said more than 200 parents, teachers and therapists have already signed up for the conference, titled “The ABC’s of ADD.”

Robert B. Brooks of Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital will deliver the featured speech Friday evening about fostering self-esteem in children and adolescents.

Workshops on Saturday led by local experts will discuss adult attention deficit disorder, drugs and attention deficit disorder, and the diagnosis and treatment of the disease.

The conference will be held at the Simi Valley Radisson Hotel and is sponsored by Simi Valley Hospital and by the Conejo Valley chapter of Children with Attention Deficit Disorder.

Friday’s events start at 5:30 p.m. and cost $35 per person; Saturday’s events start at 8 a.m. and cost $110.
