Murdent, from Fountain Valley High, had the biggest scoring week of her college career last week for the Rustlers in the Southern California playoffs. She scored a career-high 42 points as Golden West beat Long Beach, 102-79, Saturday to advance to the State tournament. Two nights earlier, Murdent made her first 10 shots, finished 12 of 15 from the field and scored 30 points as Golden West beat Santa Monica, 97-61. Golden West plays San Mateo in the quarterfinals at 6 p.m. Thursday at Orange Coast.

* Cypress, freshman. She had seven hits, scored three runs, and drove in seven more as the Chargers won their own tournament.
