MALIBU : City Gets $1.1 Million for Storm, Fire Repairs
- Share via
The city of Malibu has been awarded $1.1 million in state and federal funds to make landslide and storm repairs and to replace Las Flores Canyon bridge, which burned in the 1993 wildfire.
Roughly $560,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the state Office of Emergency Services has been earmarked to help stabilize the Rambla Pacifico landslide, which in 1984 destroyed several houses and blocked Rambla Pacifico road. The slide has moved about four feet since the Jan. 10 rainstorm, city officials say.
An additional $600,000 was allocated to rebuild Las Flores Canyon bridge with reinforced concrete.
